Welcome to Contemplative Fire Canada

Travelling Light, Dwelling Deep

Contemplative Fire is a dispersed monastic community that follows a rhythm of life of 'Travelling Light - Dwelling Deep" that is rooted in prayer, study and action.  Drawing from the broad Christian contemplative tradition, we seek to be fully present to the kingdom of God right here and right now.  As our name implies we enjoy the mystery and paradoxes of life, of being both contemplative and on fire.

See our next times together...

Worship Gathering

We gather for worship at The Church of St Leonard (Yonge and Lawrence) beginning with silence at 4 pm.  We offer an experiential encounter with scripture and a contemplative communion meal.  We usually finish about 5.30/6 pm.

Our next gathering is on Sunday, October 30th!  We hope you can join us!

What comes to mind when you think of Fireworks?

                                         Being with Friends?

FIREWORKS! give you the opportunity to commune with others as we get in touch with our Fire side.  We will be gathering monthly to discuss 'hot' topics affecting us today, where the Spirit of God may be inviting us to engage and make a difference.  It is an evening to be with like-minded individuals sharing common passions.  It is a perfect way to get to know one another!

There will be some Contemplative Fire elements woven into the evening, such as discussions taking place in large and small group format, with some silence.

Examples of theme nights:

  • Assisted dying
  • Non-violence in a violent world
Second Friday evening of the month, held at St. Leondard's, 25 Wanless Road, at 7pm
