Worship Gatherings - on the last Sunday of each month

Everyone is welcome to our community worship times. We offer an experiential encounter with scripture and a contemplative communion meal. Expect stillness, spaciousness, and room to meditate and participate as and if you like. We usually finish between 5.30-6.00pm.

Contemplative Fire is a dispersed monastic community that follows a rhythm of life of 'Travelling Light - Dwelling Deep" that is rooted in prayer, study and action.  Drawing from the broad Christian contemplative tradition, we seek to be fully present to the kingdom of God right here and right now.  As our name implies we enjoy the mystery and paradoxes of life, of being both contemplative and on fire.

7 pm for a 7.30 pm showing of the film "The Many Storeys and Last Days of Thomas Merton"

This is a fund raiser for Contemplative Fire.  Suggested donation of $20.

 

This documentary brings to life the climax of Thomas Merton's life.  It is a remarkable and thought provoking film with footage of his hermitage and travels and photos of his last trip. It also includes conversations with many that he met, such as the Dalai Lama, and many he has influenced such as Richard Rohr.

Bring gently used spiritual books for a $5 book table.

Voices of Silence

Our Voices of Silence Day in November 2014 was a successful one and we are going to offer another day when contemplatives can gather.
